11/23/2023 (Day #4348)
It’s difficult to express “Happy” as part of the recognition and acknowledgement of today from within this environment. When I spoke to my Mom today, she expressed a similar perspective. It’s not that I don’t wish everyone a happy day today. It’s just a difficult day, being apart from family and not being able to share in all the love and joy. Knowing that my not being there, not being able to participate, is self-inflicted by my own behavior is the reality. And knowing that there are people who suffered, were victimized, by my behavior is added difficulty yet honest reality that I keep in mind.
I’m thankful for healthy, hearty, resilient kids who all have great character and are good human beings. I’m thankful for my Mom’s health and well-being, as well as the health and well-being of my family and friends who have stood by me. I hope you all have a good day today. Please forgive me for omitting the “Happy”.
Thankful for the blessings and the good things. Wishing you all a great Thanksgiving.
