11/11/2023 (Day #4336)

Veterans Day

Today is a day that carries significant importance in my beliefs and values, a huge part of my personal philosophy. I’d like to wish everyone a Happy Veterans Day, and express my gratitude to all the veterans who have taken the responsibility to serve this great country, and my sincere and heartfelt sentiments go out to the families and friends of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. As a veteran, I understand and appreciate the sacrifices families and friends make just supporting a servicemember, and there is a measure of gratitude due to the spouses of servicemembers in that regard.
My service ended earlier than what I’d anticipated would be a 20+ year career. Nevertheless, I am proud of what I accomplished, thankful for the people I met and served with, and I cherish the memories created in that time. As a service-connected disabled veteran, not only do I receive benefits to “compensate”, my children also receive benefits as part of my compensation (or at least I hope they are receiving them, they are 100% eligible…), and for that I’m grateful.
Today is a day to remember, appreciate, and honor the nation’s military and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I hope everyone will take a moment or two out of their day and remember.

Proud to have served, appreciative of all who served before me and since.
