This book was recommended to me by the instructor for the Personal Growth Class I attend.
One of my friends told me that this was made into a movie, if so I really would like to see it. Normally the book is always better than the movie. lol
This story really gripped my heart. I will try not to give away too much of the book, but it was so good! You may want to have a box of tissue near by for you that are touched by stories of struggle and divine intervention, this one right here was huge on miracles, signs, and wonders!
In 2004, Kevin Malarkey (the father) and his six-years old son, Alex, suffered a terrible vehicle accident. The impact of the vehicles threw the father clear of the vehicle and the impact to Alex was so severe that it internally decapitated him, his spinal column was detached from the based of his skull. OH JESUS! It hurts me just to type that.
It seemed impossible for the little boy to survive those injuries’ but after reading this book, we know that it could not have been nobody but God to intervene in this situation.
This book was a true encouragement to me this real story shows exactly what it is for a family to stand strong through by far one of the toughest tragedies that one can face. The fact that this was a family of faith was an even more encouraging factor for me.
When little Alex woke up from his coma two months later, this little guy came back with some incredible supernatural accounts that only someone that has been there and done that can confirm. Alex’s accounts of the events that took place at the accident site and at the hospital is amazingly accurate. While this little guy’s body lie lifeless, he has a bird’s eye view of the entire situation to include what was being said, what was being worn, and who was saying this or that.
While he was unconscious physically, he was alive and awake spiritually. He stated that during this time he made a visit to heaven. He heard music that he had never heard before, he saw creations and beings that he has never imagined before. He saw colors, lights. sounds, figures, activity that blows the mind and is extremely hard to understand. Alex also spoke of angles who took him through the gates of Heaven itself.
The most amazing thing that I found in this recollection of this little guy was that he said that he was with Jesus, talking to Jesus and felt safe when Jesus was around. There was one point in the book where the Lord took him out of the room or area so that he would not see what the medical professionals were going to do to his body because he did not want him to see that and remember it. WOW!
The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven is a true story that happened to ordinary people and explain a truly extraordinary journey. This is certainly a look at Heaven and Earth through the eyes of Alex and you are sure to walk away from this book with a feeling of appreciation and knowing that there is a God and He is certainly in the business of working miracles. I really enjoyed this book, it was a major encouragement to me and has boosted my faith in God and the Kingdom to come.
Read this book, you will love the story and challenge of this family.
