My name is Mark Carter. I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1968. My Parents adopted me when I was 6 months old. We moved the Peabody, Mass., when I was about 6 years old. After 10 years we returned to live in Indy in 1984. I graduated from North Central High School in 1987. I joined the US Army in 1987 and served 2 years and 9 months. I am a father to three sons and 1 daughter ages 39,37,27,23. My Father passed in 2016. My mother is alive. She is 85 years old.
I suffered from a crack addiction from 1987-1998. This brought me to the lowest point in my life. I got clean via Narcotics Anonymous. The program works! I was in recovery for 5 years. However, I began to sell drugs in 2005. At the age of 36. I caught my first state felony. I would catch another drug dealing felony in 2013. I served time in Indiana Department of Corrections. The two state priors lead to my career offender status for my Federal Meth charges. I was sentenced in 2020 to 215 months in the Indiana Southern District, at the age of 52. My first designation was FCC Terre Haute, Indiana in September 2020(medium security). I transfer to FCI Milan, Michigan (low security) in 2024.
While doing time here at FCI Milan. I am participating in FSA programming, I attend Jackson Community College (Public Administration & Business Management). I have a 3.5 G.P.A. I take additional classes at Milan High School. I have a 3.5 G.P.A here also. My current job assignment is Suicide Watch Cadre/Companion since 2022 amongst others.
My non institutional job history is as follows: US Army (Helicopter Avionics Mechanic), warehouse/shipping and receiving, production worker, clerical worker, customer service rep, recycle specialist, hospitality specialist, delivery truck driver, junior C.D.L driver.
I am a active member of the Moorish Science Temple of America (M.S.T.A). Founder and Prophet Noble Drew Ali. I am currently serving as the Assistant Grand Sheik at FCI Milan. My Moorish-American name is Mark Carter-EL.
My conditional transition community date: 07-17-2029. That is with full FSA Time credits and 12 months Second Chance Act (keep your fingers crossed) smile.
