Today I wrapped up the week strong with more Longline painting in Rio Rico at Santa Cruz. I started the day early as usual, arriving on site ready to finish out the week with precision and purpose. With some of the crew off, it was important for me to hold my own and stay consistent from start to finish.
I began by inspecting the line truck, confirming paint levels and making sure the beads were loaded and nozzles were clean. I take pride in running a smooth operation from setup to shutdown. We began painting straight white and yellow lines along the main thoroughfares in the Santa Cruz area. I assisted with the layout guide vehicle and monitored the flow from behind to make sure there were no breaks, skips, or errors in spacing.
During line application, I made quick adjustments on the fly—switching tips, refilling bead hoppers, and flagging where needed. It felt like a good rhythm between man and machine, and I stayed locked in all day.
Once the main lines were done, I helped with cleanup, organized the truck, and noted any maintenance concerns that we should address before the next big job. I’ve found that ending the week strong isn’t just about putting in the hours—it’s about finishing with the same level of care you started with on Monday.
This week reminded me how valuable every role is—from the field work to the behind-the-scenes prep. I showed up, handled my tasks with pride, and worked like someone building something bigger than just a paycheck. I left the site feeling accomplished, ready to rest, and already looking forward to next week’s challenges.
