Today, Michael Santos blessed us with his life experiences and his vision, which shed a huge light on those that just got started in this program. I must say that when he talked about his friend Oli, I had tears in my eyes. The parallels to my life and my art is so similar – it gave me confirmation that I am on the right path. It isn’t coincidence – its confirmation. Too many things have happened in the last 6 months that re screaming to me to take a path unchartered. i haven’t been receptive to any talk of getting released…I just went through the motions of daily life in prison. You know – Eat, Sleep. Work..REPEAT.

I didn’t expect that he was coming till October, so Friday night, I found out he was coming, I put my skills into high gear and finished a portrait I was doing of him for our peer success group. The Executive staff presented this to him and took pictures of MY PORTRAIT with HIM! I was amazed! And Flattered.
After that, I taught a workshop to get these girls to hustle an event to bring everyone together. I plan on dropping by other units to see how they are doing Saturday. I am really believing in this and the plan for my life is not confined within these walls. I have a purpose and a plan and right now, it needs to be shared.
This was the best day I have had in 23 years. I want to remember this day as exciting, mind blowing!:) and having complete confirmation I am on the right path.
